Hike Bramley Mountain

Meet the Ramblers

Back in December, two members of the Ramblers Walking Club in Melbourne, Australia, planned a hiking trip to the Catskills and reached out to the CMC. They will be exploring the region this week and will meet us for a hike to the summit of Bramley Mountain this Saturday at 9am. The public is welcome to join the hike and meet the hikers from Down Under, along with members of the CMC Board of Directors. No registration is required.

The hike is a four-mile, moderate, round-trip loop to the 2817’ peak, and the fire tower will be open. The hike will begin at the lower parking lot; however, parking at the upper lot is recommended, and it’s a short walk down to the lower lot. Both parking lots are on Glen Burnie Road. Glen Burnie intersects with State Route 28, 4.5 miles south of Delhi (turn left) and 7.6 miles north of Andes (turn right). From the junction with 28, the upper Bramley Mountain parking lot is reached in 3.2 miles (on the right). Glen Burnie Road also intersects with County Highway 18 between Delhi and Bloomville. From County Highway 18, the upper parking lot is reached in three-quarters of a mile up Glen Burnie Road (2nd lot on the left).

GPS Coordinates to parking lot: 42.299037, -74.836392
